Another Man Allegedly Accesses Presidential Lounge at Eros Airport

Another man has allegedly breached security at a sensitive government facility after accessing the Presidential Lounge at Eros Airport in Windhoek on Monday, 12 October 2026.
The 25-year-old Namibian man, identified as Modestus Didalelwa, reportedly entered the airport premises at around 21h00.
Authorities have confirmed the incident, with national police spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi identifying the suspect as Didalelwa.
“What I can confirm is that at Eros Airport, on Monday, 12 October 2026, at approximately 21h00, the suspect, Modestus Didalelwa, a Namibian (25), reported to be a mental outpatient on medication and under the care of the parents, unlawfully walked into the Eros Airport premises,” Shikwambi said.
Affirmative Repositioning (AR) president Job Amupanda raised the matter publicly, claiming that the man passed through security and entered the area reserved for the President.
“You would think that our country is a MOVIE,” Amupanda wrote.
He alleged that the man sat on the sofas used by the President and enjoyed refreshments, including salami, biltong and nuts.
Amupanda further claimed that the incident was being hidden from the public and compared it to the security breach at State House that led to the dismissal of former Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force, Joseph Shikongo.
Authorities launch investigation and expect to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident and how the man allegedly gained access to the facility.
