African Stars Vow to Fight Back Against Orlando Pirates in CAF Champions League

African Stars coach Güther has urged his players to regroup and prepare for a tough challenge in South Africa, insisting that their CAF Champions League campaign is far from over despite a 1-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates in the first leg.
African Stars FC will travel to Orlando Stadium this weekend for the return leg, knowing they must score to keep their hopes of progressing in the competition alive.
Güther admitted that his team struggled during the opening 25 minutes of the first encounter, allowing Orlando Pirates too much possession instead of applying the pressure they had planned.
“Losing was definitely not something we planned for,” he said, reflecting on the result. He told SABC during Press conference.
Despite the setback, the coach remains confident that African Stars can put up a strong fight in the return fixture.
“We are not down and out. We still have another 90 minutes to go, and we are definitely planning to give it everything,” Güther said.
He acknowledged the challenge facing his players but stressed the importance of moving on from the first-leg defeat and focusing on the next match.
“We need to dust ourselves off and prepare for the next game,” he added.
