AR in the parliament

Job Amupanda

In a historic development for Namibia’s political landscape, the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has announced the official results of the National Assembly elections. The Affirmative Repositioning (AR) movement, Namibia’s youngest political party, has achieved a significant milestone by securing six parliamentary seats.

The AR movement, founded and led by Prof. Job Shipululo Amupanda, was officially registered earlier this year. Known for its youthful energy and progressive agenda, the party has quickly garnered public support. Prof. Amupanda, a lecturer at the University of Namibia, has been a vocal advocate for housing, land reform, and social equity.
The six AR members set to represent the party in Parliament are:
1. Job Shipululo Amupanda – Party Leader
2. Stanley Kavetu Maitjituavi
3. Else Illse F. Elago
4. Ester Ishiwa F. Haikola
5. Hidipo Hamba Kambala George
6. Vaino Tuhafeni Twapewavali Hangula
This marks a significant turning point for the movement as it transitions from activism to direct participation in national governance. The AR leadership has expressed its commitment to bringing transformative change to Namibian politics.
More updates to follow as the newly elected representatives prepare to assume their roles in shaping Namibia’s future.
