Oshikoto Man Dies by Suicide a Day Before Wedd

Police in the Oshikoto Region have launched an investigation following the death of Dimbulukweni Vaino, who was reported found deceased on Saturday, 28 June 2025 just a day before he was scheduled to travel for his wedding announcement.

The 31-year-old man, a resident of Ashikumbwe village, was reportedly in the final stages of preparing for the formal engagement proceedings.

According to police spokespersons, Vaino had spoken to his father on Friday, 27 June, to arrange a trip to Ondangwa, where preparations for the marriage announcement were to take place. His death, which authorities have confirmed was a suicide, has deeply shaken the community. The sudden and unexpected nature of the incident has left family, friends, and neighbours reeling with grief.

At this stage, police have not disclosed whether Vaino had any known medical or psychological conditions. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Authorities have urged the public to seek emotional and psychological support when going through difficult times, emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness and open communication.Grief counsellors have been dispatched to the village to support the bereaved family and affected community members.
