Two women facing charges of stealing HIV treatment medication worth nearly N$30 000 have been released on bail in Rundu.

Maria Ngwada and Katrina Haingura appeared before the Rundu Magistrate’s Court today, where they were each granted bail of N$7 000. Their arrest on Monday, 11 August 2025, followed allegations that they stole large quantities of PREP and ARV medication.
According to court documents, the stolen items include 112 PREP medication containers valued at N$3 935.38, 14 plastic PREP packages worth N$3 608.16, 134 ARV containers valued at N$21 797.18, and three ARV plastic bags worth N$215.80, bringing the total value to N$29 556.52.
