The Uukwangali Traditional Authority has entered a new chapter with the official designation of Eugene Siwombe Kudumo as chief, restoring leadership to the community after more than a decade without a throne bearer.

Kudumo’s appointment was confirmed by the Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, in an official letter dated 12 August 2025 to Sisindi Mbambero, a member of the Uukwangali Chiefs Council. The confirmation followed the minister’s approval of Kudumo’s application for the position, which has been vacant since the passing of the late Chief Daniel Sitentu Mpasi on 17 December 2014.
