Schoolchildren walking to class in Gcwagi village, Musese Constituency, were met with a grim scene on Wednesday morning when they came across the body of a man lying by the roadside.
The deceased was identified as Andreas Namwira Mazambo (55) from Gcamade village. According to Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga, community members reported that Mazambo was last seen the previous evening at a nearby shebeen.
A container of traditional brew was discovered underneath his body. Early checks by police showed small traces of blood around his nose and mouth, but the exact cause of death remains unclear.
Mazambo’s remains have since been taken to the Nkurenkuru Police Mortuary, where an autopsy will be carried out. His family has been informed, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death continue.
