
The Kavango West education community is mourning the sudden death of Ignasius Kapundura Rupusa, a 57-year-old teacher at Nduno Primary School, who was discovered dead at his home in Nduno village on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
Emergency services responded around 16:30 after reports that Rupusa was experiencing severe nose bleeding while lying in bed. Despite swift medical attention, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at a nearby clinic.
Colleagues and witnesses noted that Rupusa had been teaching earlier that day and appeared well before the incident. Authorities have confirmed that there are no visible signs of foul play. His body was subsequently transported to Rundu State Mortuary, and an autopsy has been ordered to determine the precise cause of death.
Rupusa, a resident of Etenderera village in the Mankumpi constituency, was widely respected as a committed and hardworking educator. Beyond his teaching role, he was actively involved in various community initiatives, including health-related ministries.
Friends and family describe him as a dedicated individual whose contributions to both education and community service will be deeply missed.
