Otjiwarongo Woman Dies in Stabbing Incident as Ex-Boyfriend Dies Near Swakopmund
Police are investigating two deaths involving a former couple after 34-year-old Kamilla Tracey Riekerts was found stabbed to death in Otjiwarongo, while her ex-boyfriend later died in an incident involving a truck near Swakopmund.
According to Otjozondjupa police spokesperson Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, Riekerts was discovered dead last Sunday inside a flat belonging to her former boyfriend, Jovin Godwin Diergaardt. She had several stab wounds to her chest and back, with a knife reportedly lodged in her chest.
Investigators believe Riekerts was last seen with Diergaardt earlier that day.
Diergaardt later travelled to Swakopmund, where he allegedly jumped in front of a moving truck about 15 kilometres along the road towards Arandis, resulting in his death.
Police have not yet established the full circumstances surrounding the two deaths as investigations continue.
