Haoseb books Commonwealth Games semifinal spot

Namibian boxer Philip Haoseb has advanced to the semifinals of the men’s 55kg division at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, after producing an impressive performance in the quarterfinals.

Haoseb secured his place in the last four with a split decision victory, edging out his opponent after a closely contested bout.The result keeps the Namibian’s medal hopes alive as he moves one step closer to the final.

His disciplined display and determination in the ring earned him the judges’ nod in what proved to be one of the division’s tightly fought contests.

Haoseb will now shift his focus to the semifinal, where a place in the gold medal bout will be at stake.
