16-year-old Angolan girl Alleges Sexual Assault by Taxi Driver in Oshana Region

Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault involving a taxi driver and a passenger along the Oshikango–Ondangwa route on Saturday afternoon.
The incident is reported to have occurred between 14h30 and 15h20, when a 16-year-old girl from Angola was travelling in a taxi from Oshikango to Ondangwa. According to the police, the woman boarded a Honda taxi together with other passengers. After the remaining passengers were dropped off, she was left alone in the vehicle with the driver.
Police allege that the driver then left the main road and turned onto a sandy track leading into nearby bushes, where he stopped the vehicle. It is further alleged that he moved from the driver’s seat to sit next to the victim, threatened her with a knife, and ordered her to lie down.
The suspect is accused of removing the victim’s clothing, wearing a condom, and forcibly engaging in sexual intercourse with her.
No arrest has been made so far, and the suspect remains at large. Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
