17-Year-Old in Custody After Alleged Rape of 15-Year-Old Cousin in Okakarara

A 17-year-old male has been taken into police custody in connection with the alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl. The arrest followed an incident reported during the early hours of Friday morning in the Okakarara area.
According to a weekend crime report provided by Police Spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, the incident took place between 07:00 and 08:00. The victim was reportedly inside her room, watching movies on a laptop in her bedroom, when the suspect gained entry.
Official reports indicate that the suspect is a cousin of the victim. It is alleged that he entered the room and sexually assaulted the teenager twice before the matter was reported to the authorities.
“The suspect has been arrested and police investigations are ongoing,” The report reads.
Law enforcement officials are currently finalizing their initial inquiry into the case. No further details regarding the suspect’s court appearance have been released at this time.
