24-Year-Old Woman Murdered After Breaking Up with Boyfriend

Police in Windhoek have opened a murder investigation following the fatal stabbing of a 24-year-old woman in Ombili location on Monday.
The victim has been identified as Ester Ndafapawa Nauyoma. She allegedly died after being attacked by her 37-year-old boyfriend.
Khomas regional police spokesperson, Senior Inspector Silas Shipandeni, said the suspect went to Nauyoma’s residence at around 13:00 after she informed him of her intention to end their relationship. He reportedly demanded the return of money he had given her during their relationship, as well as a cellphone he had bought for her.
An argument is said to have ensued, after which the suspect left the house. However, he allegedly returned at around 18:00, where the confrontation resumed.
According to Shipandeni, the suspect then stabbed Nauyoma with a knife, killing her at the scene. The couple had reportedly been in a relationship for approximately six years.
The suspect fled after the incident but was later traced and arrested at Katutura State Hospital, where he had gone to seek medical treatment for an injury to his left hand.
