30-Year-Old Suspect Arrested After 39-Year-Old Man Dies in Oshikuku

The Omusati police have taken a 30-year-old man from Iipumbu village in the Oshikuku Constituency into custody following the death of a 39-year-old local resident.
Police reports indicate that the incident occurred on 20 January at Cafu Cuca shops, where the two men were allegedly involved in a heated argument. During the confrontation, the suspect is said to have grabbed the victim from behind, causing him to fall heavily to the ground.
Although the injured man reportedly complained of pain to his neck, those present initially did not view the injury as serious. His condition later deteriorated, prompting his admission to hospital. He was eventually transferred to Oshakati State Hospital, where he died on 25 January.
A post-mortem examination carried out on 30 January confirmed that the cause of death was a neck injury. The suspect remains in police custody while investigations continue.
