34-Year-Old Man Accused of Killing Girlfriend’s Son Appears in Windhoek Magistrate’s Court

A 34-year-old man, Erick Moses !Kharuxab accused of killing his girlfriend’s four-year-old son appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where he faces charges of murder and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm under the Domestic Violence Act.

Erick Moses !Kharuxab is linked to a fatal incident that reportedly took place on Saturday evening in Prosperita, Windhoek. According to police, the incident occurred around 21:00 during an altercation between the accused and his partner, Maria Pienaar.

It is alleged that during the confrontation, !Kharuxab violently assaulted the child, Romeo Pienaar, resulting in severe injuries. Police reports indicate that the boy was allegedly thrown onto the ground and against nearby railway tracks, leading to his death at the scene.

During his first court appearance, !Kharuxab informed the court that he will represent himself in the matter. He also indicated that he would not apply for bail.

The case has been postponed to 10 June for further investigation and legal proceedings.
