34-year-old Woman Caught with Cannabis Valued at Over N$580,000

Police officers conducting Operation Thunderstorm along the C38 main road between Outjo and Otjiwarongo made a major drug bust on Tuesday, 7 October 2025, seizing cannabis valued at over N$580,000.
The arrest followed a routine vehicle search at around midday when officers stopped a car driven by a 34-year-old woman. During the inspection, police discovered a bag containing 11 full parcels of skunk cannabis, weighing 11.6 kilograms.
Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, head of the Police Public Relations Division, confirmed the arrest and said the woman was immediately taken into custody. The confiscated drugs have an estimated street value of N$580,250.
A case of dealing in dependence-producing substances has been registered, and investigations are continuing to determine the origin and intended destination of the drugs.
