45-Year-Old Security Officer Shoots Himself in Ohangwena Region

A 45-year-old security officer has died following an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in the Ohangwena Region.

The incident reportedly took place on Friday afternoon at around 13:00 in the area between Omafo and Engela villages. The deceased has been identified as Simon Shipingana Shitalatala.

Police indicated that preliminary investigations suggest no involvement of a third party. No suicide note was found at the scene.

Shitalatala’s body was taken to the Engela State Hospital mortuary, where a medical practitioner pronounced him dead. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
