A 33-Year-Old Man Lost His Life After He Was Attack With a Firewood

A heated argument between a couple in Tsumkwe ended in tragedy after a 33-year-old man lost his life during a domestic altercation.
Otjozondjupa Regional Police spokesperson, Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, confirmed that the incident involved a 30-year-old woman and her boyfriend, Kelvin Iiyambo. The two were reportedly at their home and had both consumed alcohol when a verbal confrontation broke out. Police say the disagreement started after the man allegedly made insulting remarks toward the woman.
During the altercation, the woman is alleged to have picked up a piece of firewood and struck Iiyambo on the head, inflicting a serious open injury. He was taken for medical treatment but later died from his injuries. A nurse at the Tsumkwe Clinic officially pronounced him dead, and his body was transferred to the local mortuary.
The suspect has since been taken into police custody and is scheduled to appear before court on Monday, 22 December 2025, on a charge of murder. Authorities have also confirmed that the deceased’s family has been notified.
