ACC Arrests Former NAC Employee Over 2015 Fraud Allegations

A long-running investigation into suspected corruption at the Namibia Airports Company (NAC) has led to the arrest of former employee Boas Megameno Naanda, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) confirmed on Friday.
ACC interim spokesperson Marina Matundu said the allegations stem from events in April 2015, when NAC decided to auction a vehicle that had been purchased for an executive whose employment had ended. During this process, Naanda allegedly issued a cash cheque of N$320,000, which the bank later returned due to insufficient funds.
According to Matundu, the act amounted to misrepresentation, causing financial loss to NAC and forming the basis of the fraud charges.
Following his arrest, Naanda made his first court appearance, where he was granted bail of N$10,000. His case has been postponed to 5 December 2025 for further court proceedings.
