Armed gang robs Windhoek man of valuables worth over N$1 million
Police are investigating an armed robbery after a 31-year-old man was robbed of his vehicle, cash and personal belongings valued at more than N$1 million in Klein Windhoek on Friday evening.
According to the police weekend crime report, the incident occurred between 18:00 and 19:00 at the intersection of Robert Mugabe Avenue and the A1 Dr Hage Geingob Freeway, where five suspects allegedly confronted the victim.
One of the suspects was reportedly armed with a pistol, while the others carried knives.
The suspects allegedly stole a blue Volkswagen Polo TSI, an iPhone 16, an Apple Watch, N$7,000 in cash and personal documents, with the total value of the stolen property estimated at N$1,048,000.
Police later recovered the stolen vehicle abandoned in the Lafrenz industrial area after it had reportedly been stripped of several parts.
No arrests have been made, and police investigations into the robbery are continuing.
