Bus Crashes Into Vendors in Ondangwa, Claims One Life and Injures Four

One person has died and four others were injured following a serious road accident in Ondangwa’s central business area in the Oshana Region on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred when a bus left the roadway and crashed into street vendors.
According to CCTV footage circulating on social media, the bus veered off the road and struck several vendors who were selling goods behind the pavement, close to the roadway. The footage shows the bus continuing into the area where the vendors and vehicles were located.
Oshana Regional Police Commander Commissioner Andreas Shilelo confirmed that one person died at the scene, while four others were injured and taken to Onandjokwe Referral Hospital for medical treatment. One of the injured victims is reportedly in critical condition.
Shilelo also confirmed that the bus driver was arrested following the accident. The driver was taken to hospital, where blood samples will be collected and tested to determine whether alcohol was present in his system at the time of the crash.
Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Authorities are expected to establish what caused the bus to leave the roadway and whether any other factors contributed to the crash.
