Doctor Arrested Over Alleged Rape of a 26 years old Man at Onandjokwe Hospital

A 26-year-old man is receiving medical care after he was allegedly drugged and raped by a 31-year-old medical doctor at Onandjokwe Hospital in the early hours of Saturday.
According to the Namibian Police, the complainant travelled to Oniipa after the doctor invited him to celebrate his new job and reportedly paid for his transport.
Police say the two were drinking alcohol at the doctor’s hospital accommodation when the complainant noticed what looked like a pill dissolving in his drink. Shortly afterwards, he began feeling sick and nauseous.
It is alleged that the doctor then raped the man. The complainant reportedly escaped by breaking a window after discovering that the room had been locked. He later regained consciousness in a hospital bed.
Both the complainant and the suspect underwent medical examinations, including rape kit procedures. The doctor was arrested, and police investigations into the case are continuing.
The arrest follows a previous rape case involving the same doctor. Less than two years ago, the Windhoek High Court acquitted him of raping an 18-year-old male patient after ruling that the State had failed to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
