A medical doctor has been arrested in Rehoboth following allegations of sexual assault involving a 40-year-old woman.

According to the police, the incident allegedly took place on Friday, 4 September 2026, at about 21h30 at Erf 829 in Block D.

Police allege that the suspect went to the woman’s room and expressed his intention to have anal sex with her. She allegedly refused, after which he reportedly played loud music from a boom box.

The suspect is further alleged to have forcibly pushed the woman onto a bed and restrained her before sexually assaulting her without her consent.

The doctor was arrested on Tuesday and remains in custody. Police said he is expected to be charged and appear before the Rehoboth Magistrate’s Court.

Investigations into the alleged assault are continuing.
