Elderly Couple Attacked During Early Morning Leaving Them Injured in Rossmund

An elderly couple was left injured after a violent home invasion at Rossmund Estate, near the Rossmund Golf Club, in the early hours of Wednesday morning (11 February).
Authorities say the couple, both in their late 70s to early 80s, were asleep when three suspects allegedly entered their home through a bathroom window between 03:00 and 04:00.
According to emergency and security personnel at the scene, the woman woke to use the bathroom and was confronted by one of the intruders. The suspects reportedly assaulted both victims and tied them up while searching the house for valuables. The woman is said to have pleaded with the attackers not to harm them, but one allegedly told her to “shut up” as the assault continued. The man reportedly pretended to be dead in an attempt to stop further violence.
Stolen items reportedly include cellphones, laptops, and jewellery described as having strong sentimental value.
The couple managed to free themselves and call for help. They were transported to hospital, with the man sustaining injuries including suspected broken ribs. Both are now reported to be in stable condition and not in life-threatening danger.
No arrests have been made at this stage. Police stated that they will provide further information once initial investigations are complete.
