Fugitive Fraud Suspect Andreas “Slim” Mawamo Arrested in Rundu After Police Hunt

Andreas Mawamo, also known as Andreas Slim, a 32-year-old suspect wanted in connection with a fraud case, has been arrested in Rundu, Kavango East Region.

He was apprehended on Thursday by local police officers after it was established that he had been hiding in the town. Mawamo appeared before the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Friday, where he was remanded in custody.

Authorities have indicated that he will be transferred to Windhoek, where the alleged offence was committed. The case, which involves theft under false pretences, is registered under case number CR 919/03/2026.

He is expected to make his next court appearance at the Katutura Magistrate’s Court on 14 April 2026 as the matter proceeds.
