An 83-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death inside her bedroom at Ondiyamande village in the Uukwiyuushona Constituency, with police now hunting for her grandson who is suspected to have carried out the brutal attack.
The deceased, identified as Selma Shilunga, was reportedly discovered lying in a pool of blood after suffering multiple wounds inflicted with an unknown object.
According to police, the suspect, Alfred Tomas, popularly known as “Kambila”, allegedly broke into the elderly woman’s room by smashing a bedroom window before attacking her while she was asleep.
At the time of the incident, the deceased was reportedly sharing the room with her young grandson.
