Gunmen Rob Oshakati Man of N$71,000 After Bank Withdrawal
A 58-year-old man was confronted by three armed men in Uupindi, Oshakati, shortly after making a large cash withdrawal from a bank on Friday morning.
According to the police report, the incident occurred at around 10:30 when a grey Honda Fit without number plates allegedly blocked the victim’s vehicle.
Three men reportedly emerged from the vehicle, with one of them firing a shot at the driver’s window before the group allegedly took N$71,000 in cash, the victim’s car keys and a necklace.
The man had reportedly withdrawn N$70,000 from Bank Windhoek shortly before the robbery. The circumstances surrounding the difference between the withdrawn amount and the reported stolen cash were not immediately clear.
The suspects fled the scene in the Honda Fit and remain at large.
Police have not reported any arrests, while investigations into the robbery are continuing.
