Keetmanshoop Man Arrested After Girlfriend Dies Following Fight
A 39-year-old man has been arrested in Keetmanshoop following the death of his girlfriend after an alleged physical altercation at a house in the Ileni location on Saturday morning.
According to the police weekend crime report, the incident was reported at about 09:40 on 3 October. Police allege that the couple were involved in an argument that later turned physical.
An ambulance was called to the scene, but the woman was declared dead upon arrival.
Police said no visible injuries or open wounds were observed on the deceased’s body. Internal injuries are suspected, and her body was taken to the Keetmanshoop mortuary for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
The suspect was arrested and, during his detention, police allegedly found him in possession of a small packet of cannabis.
He is expected to appear in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed.
