Man Found Dead in VW Kombi Near Windhoek

Authorities have launched an inquest following the death of a 49-year-old man whose body was discovered in a parked vehicle along the Kupferberg road, roughly 40 kilometres outside Windhoek.
According to police, the deceased identified as Hofeni Shoombe was found inside a silver VW Kombi belonging to a local tour operator. The discovery was made on Friday, 28 November 2025, at an unspecified time.
Shoombe was seated in the vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head when officers arrived at the scene. Investigators have so far indicated that no foul play is suspected, though the circumstances leading to the incident remain under review.
Police confirmed that Shoombe’s family has been notified, and the inquiry is continuing as part of routine procedure in such cases.
