Namibian Man Arrested for Illegal Timber Transport

A 49-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, 20 September 2025, for allegedly transporting timber without the necessary permits.

According to the police, the suspect was stopped at around 02h16 at Kaguni village, where he was found in possession of 57 planks of timber valued at approximately N$11,400. Investigations revealed that he did not have valid harvesting or transportation permits.

The suspect was taken into custody and now faces charges relating to the illegal possession and transportation of forest resources. Police have confirmed that further investigations are underway.
