NDF Member Kills Girlfriend, Injures Colleague and commit suicide

A tragic shooting involving members of the Namibian Defence Force (NDF) unfolded in Windhoek West on Monday night, leaving two people dead and one NDF officer injured.
According to the Namibian Police, the incident occurred around 21:00 on 17 November 2025 in Pasteur Street. Police say 33-year-old NDF member Abner Shilemba allegedly shot and injured a 54-year-old male NDF colleague before turning his firearm on his alleged girlfriend, Justine Metumo Nelenge, aged 34.
Investigators report that Shilemba shot the male NDF member first, wounding him, then fired multiple rounds at Nelenge. He then allegedly shot himself.
Shilemba and Nelenge were rushed to Katutura State Hospital but both were declared dead due to the severity of their injuries. The injured NDF member remains under medical care.
The Namibian Police have launched a full investigation into the motives and circumstances behind the deadly NDF-linked shooting.
