Otjiwarongo Man Robbed of Vehicle and Phones in Early Morning Attack

An early morning robbery in Otjiwarongo has left a local man injured and stripped of belongings valued at nearly half a million Namibia dollars.
According to police, the incident happened around 02h00 on Saturday near the New Cemetery in Orwetoveni. The victim had briefly stopped his Toyota Hilux double cab along the road to rest while driving from Etambi Bar toward Extension 6.
While he was asleep inside the vehicle, unknown suspects allegedly hurled stones at the car, smashing the front windscreen and both front windows. Startled by the attack, the man got out and attempted to chase the two assailants. One of them struck him on the forehead with a stone, leaving him with an open wound, while the other suspect jumped back into the vehicle and drove off toward the direction of Etambi Bar.
The stolen items include a black Toyota Hilux Double Cab 4.0 V6 valued at N$450 000, two wallets containing personal documents, a Samsung S24 Ultra worth N$25 000, and a Samsung S24 valued at N$7 000. The total loss amounts to N$482 000.
Police later located the abandoned vehicle about 25 kilometres from the Tsumeb–Oshivelo main road. None of the other stolen items were recovered, and the suspects remain at large.
