Patient Alleges Sexual Assault by Medical Staff at Katutura Hospital

A young woman receiving medical care at Katutura Intermediate Hospital has reported that she was sexually assaulted by a healthcare worker while admitted to the facility.
The 23-year-old patient had been referred from Rehoboth for specialised treatment after suffering a fractured leg. She alleges that the incidents occurred over a period of several days, between 29 November and 6 December, while she was confined to her hospital bed.
At the time of reporting, the Ministry of Health and Social Services had not issued any official response regarding the allegations. The matter has nonetheless sparked concern over patient safety and accountability within public health facilities, as investigations are expected to follow through the appropriate legal channels.
