Police Recover Stolen Cattle Meat, Suspect Arrested in Windhoek

Police have recovered four cattle carcasses believed to be stolen and arrested a 35-year-old man following a traffic stop along the B1 Road near Hochland Park and Rocky Crest in Windhoek during the early hours of Friday morning.
According to police, traffic officers stopped a vehicle and discovered four unskinned Bonsmara cattle carcasses that had been cut into portions and loaded inside the car. Preliminary investigations indicate that the meat may have originated from the Omaheke Region.
Authorities believe the incident involves a total of six suspects; however, only the driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody at this stage. The remaining suspects are still at large.
The recovered carcasses have been seized as evidence, and their monetary value has not yet been established. Deputy Commissioner Shikwambi confirmed the arrest and recovery, adding that investigations are continuing to trace the source of the cattle and apprehend the other suspects.
