Rundu Police Arrest Suspect in Investigation Into Alleged Attacks on Nine Women by Masked Man

Police in the Kavango East Region have arrested a suspect linked to alleged serial rape incidents in Rundu, following reports that a masked man had been terrorising women in the town and surrounding areas.
About five months ago, police raised concerns over claims of a serial rapist operating in Rundu, with reports indicating that the suspect allegedly wore a white mask during the attacks.
Kavango East Crime Investigations Coordinator Deputy Commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu confirmed that nine women had reportedly been raped by a man matching that description.
Kanyetu confirmed to NBC News that a suspect has been arrested, but said investigators have not yet established whether the arrested man is responsible for all the reported cases.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Monday as investigations continue.
