Second Accused Added in Case of Alleged Death Threats Against Prosecutor

A second suspect has been added to a criminal case involving alleged threats against a control prosecutor in Grootfontein.
Kefas Hoaeb appeared in the Grootfontein Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, where Magistrate Bornface Konga confirmed that he has been joined as the second accused in the matter. The first accused in the case is Efriam Tsibeb.
The two men are accused of threatening to kill control prosecutor Kristiana Erastus and allegedly warning her to step down from her position or face a violent attack.
During the court proceedings, the prosecution indicated that it would oppose bail, arguing that the seriousness of the allegations must be taken into account and that the accused could potentially interfere with witnesses.
The case was postponed to allow the defence time to prepare a formal bail application.
Police have also arrested two additional individuals linked to the matter, including the son of the first accused and a police inspector.
