Suspect in custody after fatal stabbing at Gochas bar
A 28-year-old man has died after he was allegedly stabbed with a broken bottle during a confrontation at a bar in Gochas, Hardap Region, in the early hours of Sunday.
According to the Namibian Police’s weekend crime report, the incident occurred at around 00:20 after an argument allegedly broke out between the victim and another man inside the bar.
The disagreement reportedly escalated into a physical fight.
Police allege that the suspect stabbed the victim in the neck with a broken bottle during the altercation. The victim sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and remains in police custody while police continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed.
