Tourists Lose Around N$234 000 in Swakopmund Theft

Tourists in Swakopmund were robbed of roughly N$234,000 in cash after thieves broke into their vehicle outside a well-known hotel on Friday morning.
The incident occurred on 28 November 2025 at about 08:20. According to the Nampol crime report, the suspects accessed the car through an unlocked back door and stole three bags containing clothing, passports, a driving licence, a power bank, and large sums of money belonging to the visitors.

The stolen amount includes €4,000 (about N$82,000) and US$8,000 (about N$152,000), confirming that the cash was the main target of the thieves.
The suspects reportedly fled in a silver VW Polo. No arrests or recoveries have been made yet, and police investigations continue.
