Two-Year-Old Twins Allegedly Killed One-Year-Old Baby in Omusati Region

Police in the Omusati Region have opened a murder investigation following the death of a toddler at Okathitukambanda village in the Ogongo constituency, where the child allegedly died after an incident involving two minors.
According to Omusati regional police commander, Commissioner Ismael Basson, the incident occurred on Monday evening, 16 March, at about 19:40. Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased, a one-year-old boy, died after his twin cousins, also aged two years, allegedly forced sand into his mouth, nose and eyes, which caused his death.
The children were reportedly left at home with very little supervision at the time of the incident. The twins were together with the deceased toddler and another child aged five years.
Police said the two suspects have not been arrested because they are minors, and investigations into the matter are continuing.
This incident follow similar incident reported in the same region last year, a five-year-old boy from Uukuvu village allegedly killed a baby girl, claiming he did not like the child.
