Unidentified Man Found Dead in A Tree Near Okakarara T-Junction

An unidentified man was discovered dead beneath a tree at the T-junction near the Pink House in Okakarara in the early hours of today.
Otjozondjupa Police spokesperson and community liaison officer, Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, said police were alerted to the incident at about 01:00 after a report was received that a man was lying motionless at the location.
Upon arrival, officers found that the deceased had sustained burn marks on his body and his clothes were partially burnt. Police suspect that the man may have been struck by lightning, as heavy rain was falling in the area at the time of the incident.
No identification documents were found on the deceased. His body was transported to the Okakarara State Hospital mortuary for further examination.
A case has been registered, and police are urging anyone who may be searching for a missing male relative to contact the Okakarara Police Station at 067 317 015.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
