Woman Brutally Raped and Murdered in Omusati Region

A shocking incident has left the Omusati community reeling after a woman was brutally raped and murdered in the early hours of Thursday.
According to the police, the victim, an adult female from Oufa waElia village in Outapi Constituency, was attacked before being assaulted with a dry stick and a stone. Investigators say the suspect struck her on the head, causing instant death. The body was then dragged and dumped in a foundation trench at a construction site in the Onhimbu location of Outapi, where it was later discovered.
Omusati Regional Police Commander, Commissioner Ismael Basson, confirmed the gruesome incident, stating that the suspect was arrested on Friday afternoon following an intensive manhunt.
Authorities have yet to release the identity of the deceased as investigations continue. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
