Woman Hospitalised After Brutal Attack Over Meal

A violent dispute over a meal has left a 34-year-old woman hospitalised in northern Namibia, after she was allegedly assaulted with a broken bottle and stabbed during an altercation on Saturday afternoon.
The incident reportedly occurred around 17:00 at Omusabwa location in Oshikango, within the Helao Nafidi Town area. According to police information, the confrontation began when a male suspect demanded that the woman share her food with him.
Authorities say the situation quickly escalated from a verbal exchange of insults into physical violence. The suspect allegedly struck the woman on the head with an empty broken bottle before stabbing her in the jaw.
The victim was rushed to Engela State Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment. Medical staff have indicated that she is in a stable condition.
Police have identified the suspect, who remains at large. Investigations into the attempted murder case are ongoing.
