Woman Remains in Custody After Bail Denied in Brother-in-Law Murder Case

A 46-year-old woman accused of fatally stabbing her brother-in-law has been denied bail following her appearance in the Katutura Magistrate’s Court in Windhoek.
Andrea Helena Ferris appeared before the court in connection with the alleged incident that took place at a residence in Elisenheim on Sunday afternoon. The court ordered that she remain in custody until 4 June 2026.

Ferris faces two counts of attempted murder and one charge of murder with a domestic violence element.
The court denied her bail, citing the seriousness of the charges. The State argued that granting bail would not be in the public interest and could undermine the administration of justice.
