Walvis Bay School Urges Parents to Keep Sick Children at Home

Parents have been urged not to send children who are feeling unwell to school following confirmed cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) at Narraville Primary School in Walvis Bay.
School principal Yolande Theron said two learners have tested positive for the disease, while several other pupils are displaying symptoms associated with the viral infection.
Theron appealed to parents to monitor their children’s health closely and keep them at home if they show signs of illness to help prevent the virus from spreading further within the school.
Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease is a contagious viral infection that commonly affects young children. Symptoms may include fever, sores in the mouth, and a rash on the hands and feet.
The school has encouraged parents and guardians to cooperate by seeking medical attention for children who become ill and ensuring they only return to school once they have fully recovered.
