Zambia Joins Global HealthAI Regulatory Network

Zambia has become the first African country to join the HealthAI Global Regulatory Network (GRN), following an announcement by the Global Agency for Responsible AI in Health. The development marks a major milestone in advancing responsible artificial intelligence use within the continent’s healthcare systems.
The GRN brings together health regulators from around the world to promote the safe and effective integration of AI in healthcare, with a focus on shared standards, oversight, and collaboration.
The agreement was signed by Joma Tambatamba Simuyi, Permanent Secretary for Administration in Zambia’s Ministry of Health, and Dr. Ricardo Baptista Leite, the CEO of HealthAI. Their partnership positions Zambia at the forefront of AI governance in health, aligning the country with global efforts to ensure ethical and secure deployment of emerging technologies.
