Yemen’s Houthi Announce First Direct Attack on Israel

Yemen’s Houthi group has declared that it has launched its first direct military operation targeting Israel, according to a statement from its spokesperson, Yahya Saree.
The group claims the attack involved the use of missiles aimed at Israeli territory, describing the move as part of its response to ongoing developments in the region. This marks a notable escalation, as the Houthis had previously issued warnings but had not publicly confirmed a direct strike on Israel.
Israeli defence systems reportedly detected the incoming threat, with measures taken to intercept the projectile before it could cause damage. Authorities have not reported significant impact on the ground.
The Houthis indicated that their actions are linked to broader regional tensions and suggested that further operations could follow. Their involvement adds a new dimension to an already volatile situation, raising concerns about the potential for a wider conflict.
