G4S Security Services has approached the High Court, requesting that a lawsuit brought against it by the Namibia Diamond Trading Company (NAMDIA) be struck off the roll.

The security firm argues that NAMDIA’s claim lacks clarity and fails to provide enough supporting details.

NAMDIA is accusing G4S of negligence, claiming that 446 parcels of diamonds allegedly in its lawful possession were stolen.

In its legal response, G4S contends that NAMDIA has not provided evidence proving ownership or lawful control over the missing diamonds, nor has it shown that the alleged loss directly affected the company.

The security company also maintains that NAMDIA ignored an earlier opportunity to correct its court documents and supply the requested information about the diamonds — including their grade, carat weight, and valuation method.

According to G4S, efforts to obtain these details through NAMDIA’s legal representatives were unsuccessful.

As a result, G4S is asking the court to dismiss the case or, alternatively, to instruct NAMDIA to revise its claim and provide the missing information within a set period.
