Hon. Lucia Iipumbu Calls for Professionalism and Innovation at Nkurenkuru Home Affairs Office

Hon. Lucia Iipumbu, Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, said on Thursday that the new Home Affairs regional office in Nkurenkuru will bring vital government services directly to the people. She described the facility as providing civil registration, identification, and travel services, replacing the hardships residents previously faced under harsh weather conditions.
The Minister highlighted the project’s alignment with national priorities. “This facility supports the Sixth National Development Plan’s goal of creating a public service defined by speed, quality, and responsiveness. We remain committed to digitalization and innovative approaches—a business unusual approach to service delivery,” she said.
On accountability, Minister Iipumbu noted that the project, initiated by her predecessor Hon. Dr. Albert Kawana, is now complete. “President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah directed that she would attend only once the building was finished, emphasizing excellence over ceremony,” she said.
She also urged staff to maintain professionalism and a client-focused approach. “Employees must place clients at the center of their work and demonstrate the highest ethical standards in every task,” Minister Iipumbu added.
