Keetmanshoop Municipality, NBC Explore Strategic Media Partnership
The Keetmanshoop Municipality has engaged the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) on a potential strategic media partnership aimed at strengthening the town’s visibility and promoting its economic and development opportunities.
The engagement, held today, saw the municipality welcome a delegation from the NBC Sales Team for discussions on areas of possible collaboration between the two institutions.
During the engagement, NBC presented its range of services, including radio, television, digital, news and production platforms, highlighting opportunities through which the municipality could enhance the profiling and visibility of Keetmanshoop.
Discussions also focused on using media platforms to promote the town as an investment, tourism and business destination.
Particular attention was given to creating greater exposure for local small and medium enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurs, economic opportunities and key development initiatives.
The proposed partnership could provide the municipality with additional platforms to communicate its programmes and initiatives to residents, businesses and potential investors, while showcasing Keetmanshoop’s potential to a wider national audience.
The parties also discussed the possibility of formalising their future cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Such an agreement could provide a framework for mutually beneficial initiatives focused on strategic communication, town profiling, promotion of local businesses and support for local economic development.
The municipality said it welcomes partnerships that can contribute to promoting Keetmanshoop, supporting local businesses and showcasing the opportunities and potential available within the town.
The engagement forms part of efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships and explore innovative ways of using media to support communication, economic development and investment promotion.
For Keetmanshoop, the proposed collaboration with NBC could create an opportunity to place the town’s development agenda, businesses, tourism attractions and investment prospects more prominently in the national spotlight.
