MICT Congratulates NBC Presenter Elago Shitaatala on SADC Media Awards Victory

The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) has congratulated Elago N. Shitaatala, a presenter and producer at the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), on winning the Television Journalism category at the SADC Media Awards 2026.
Shitaatala’s achievement places Namibian television journalism in the regional spotlight and reflects the growing contribution of Namibian media practitioners to professional journalism within the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
In congratulating Shitaatala, MICT recognised the award as an important achievement for both the journalist and the Namibian media fraternity.
Her success demonstrates the value of quality journalism and the role of media professionals in informing the public and telling stories that resonate beyond national borders.
The SADC Media Awards provide a platform for journalists from across the region to showcase excellence in various fields of journalism and contribute to the strengthening of professional media standards within the SADC region.
Shitaatala’s recognition is therefore not only a personal milestone but also a source of pride for the NBC and Namibia’s broader media industry.
MICT extended its congratulations to Shitaatala, commending her dedication and professionalism and wishing her continued success in her journalism career.
The ministry also encouraged Namibian media practitioners to continue pursuing excellence, innovation and responsible journalism while contributing to the development of the country’s media landscape.
